Engine No Oil Pressure 5 Min After Oil Change

Subject says it all. Car has been on the stands for a week while I installed a water temp Gauge. Tonight I changed the oil and dropped it back down, started it up and checked the oil pressure. Checked the dip stick and it is dry after 5 qrt so I shut it off. Any ideas?

Put your oil plug back in clean up the newly formed oil slick underneath your car and fill it again.

ummmm....yeah. If the oil isn't on the floor then it must be in the oil pan. Pull the plug in your oil pan and drain it into a clean bucket. Perhaps your dipstick tube came out of the block? You are working on a mustang and not a powerstroke right?

Don't know about yours but, mine takes 6 qts. That could have a small bearing on the dipstick issue.

I know what the title says but when it was running did you hear noise? What filter did you use? If it not on floor it has be be in the engine somewhere.

5 will likely not register on the dip stick. Put another qt in and recheck. If its a 4v it will take 6.5-7 to fill.
