Greetings,
I own a '00 GT 'Vert.
When the car is cold, and I start the engine, I get no oil pressure from the gauge until the engine reaches normal temp. (warms up)
After about 2 mins, the oil pressure gauge will go from zero to mid range for a few seconds, then drop down to zero (far left reading) then back to mid range.
This goes back and forth until the engine is warmed up. (after about 5 minutes)
Once the engine is warmed up, if I turn the ignition off and restart the car, the oil pressure is fine. (at mid range)
I checked the amount oil the engine has, and it is fine.
No mods have been made on my car other than an K&N air filter.
I get no "Idiot Lights" when this is happening. All other gauges seem to be OK.
Faulty gauge? Bad voltage regulation to the gauge? Oil pump going?
Any ideas come to mind? Has this happened before to any of you?

Thanks in advance,

The oil gauge is just driven by on or off. It really doesn't register the oil pressure.

Loose connection, bad on/off sending unit?

You don't know how crappy the stock gauges are until you put an after market gauge on your car. I put an autometer oil pressure gauge on my car on the a-pillar and it is a lot more accurate than the factory on. like it was said before, the factory gauge is either completely off or it is straight up reading fine. it does not fuctuate any. it sounds to me like a loose conection or a bad sending unit. the sending unit is right underneath the oil filter if you want to check it out for a loose connection. try unluging it and pluggin back in a few times.
