I got my 93 running the other night after a 2 year build. Getting overly excited (plus lack of sleep and a little alcohol), I wanted to see where the rev limit was going to be, thinking it was going to stop at 6250. I have a A9L ECM, and I pulled all my wiring (headlight to tail light) from a 93 GT. When I stabbed the throttle it buried the tach before I could stop it. I have a 2001 GT dash swap and I am using the Cluster from a 95 GT, and using the factory tach. It went WAY past 7k on the tach. It idles around 750. Is something wrong here?? Just wondered. Also I am using aftermarket springs on my heads, and there didn't seem to be any valve float.

sounds like the tach is off to me. But my cars tach read well into 7k once when my cruise control kicked on in neutral. It was hitting the 6250 limiter but the tach continued full sweep. ignoring the tach for a second, did it SOUND like it was hitting the rev limiter?

Tach is off. They can be adjusted, there are dials behind it but you need a specific tool to tune it. Search for a thread I did about a year ago. You can make these tats accurate at redline

No it didn't sound like it was hitting a limiter of any kind. Just kept climbing. During the wiring phase of this thing I checked the stock against an autometer, using the tach test option of my mallory ignition box, both read the same. So I don't know if this ECM has been reflashed or something...

The stock computer just cant keep up with your engine when it's in neutral. I have a 93 with a 331 and have turned it over 8K when in neutral b4 i had a MSD box.
