No spark - EFI conversion

I'm unable to get my '66 w/ EFI to start, it has new distributor cap, rotor, plugs, and coil. And before I take out the dizzy to have the TFI and PIP tested (which I don't even know where the PIP is or how to test) I'm curious about this one wire that is not connected, and I cannot find a diagram for what this is to. I'm getting fuel but no spark when cranking, with an inductive timing light I don't show anything, except one time when I was turning the key (back to off) the timing light flashed 1 time, but not since then.

Does anyone know what this green wire is for? Perhaps is that why I'm not getting any spark?

How do you check that the coil is getting power?
 
search on ebay for a tool made by thexton to r&r the dist gear. its like 50 bucks. when you remove the tfi module, there are three terminals to the pip. i am not sure how to test it with a light. it is best tested with an oscilloscope.

Hall effect crankshaft position sensors typically have three terminals; one for current feed, one for ground and one for the output signal. The sensor must have voltage and ground to produce a signal, so check these terminals first with an analog voltmeter. Sensor output can be checked by unplugging the DIS module and cranking the engine to see if the sensor produces a voltage signal. The voltmeter needle should jump each time a shutter blade passes through the Hall effect switch. If observed on an oscilloscope, you should see a square waveform. No signal would tell you the sensor has failed.

Now all we need is a wiring diagram...

So just give it power and ground and hook up the meter to the other terminal and see if you get a signal in volts when you spin it.

The pip sensor also provides the pulse to fire the injectors. Get a noid light form AutoZone or other auto parts store, or even better a set of them

Plug the noid light into any one of the fuel injector wiring sockets and try to start the engine. If the pip is working, it will cause the noid light(s) to flash.
