Electrical No spark from coil

I've already some searching around and none of which I've tried has worked. New coil and new distributor. Power to both wires going into the coil. I have an inline tester and no light coming from the glass as I crank the key. Funny thing is when I let off the key you are a flash of light for a second and that's it. Little lost.

Turn the key to the on postion, jump the solenoid with a screw driver.
MAKE SURE THE CAR IS IN PARK OR NEUTRAL

Same thing. Get flicker of light out of the tester for a blink in the beginning of cranking and a blink before letting off cranking
