Earlier today I was setting my timing the spout was being pretty stubborn so I had to use a little muscle to get it out when it let loose it went shooting off and now is m.i.a. Just got done spending an hour and a half looking for it and still no luck. My ? Is what will happen if I run no spout and will it hurt the car or drive ability?

It's not going to "hurt" anything you can fashion a paperclip or wire and jump it, that's all the spout connector is a 'jumper'

Yeah w/o it you can set your timing up in the 20-30* range for more power. Set is as high as you can in that range as long as you don't ping. You also use the paperclip method as mentioned and that works just fine.

and FWIW, a ton of fords use the same SPOUT connector - next time you are at the J/Y, grab one. i doubt they would charge for it even.

i am running locked out right now - i need to put that stupid connector somewhere so i dont lose it.

You can probably find just about any Ford from mid-80's up and it will have one. Some might look slightly different, but they should fit and work (I've only seen two different types).
