No turn signals. Was told it was the switch. Replaced it same result. Hazards work. What's next?

Put in new fuse and they worked until I backed out of the driveway. Blew 4 fuses. What's next?

Fix the short is the next step. Did you replace the turn signal "flasher"? That may be the shorting source. The hazard lights have their own flasher. The flashers look similar but are different .

Replaced the turn signal switch. Still nothing. Where is the flasher?

They can be tucked up anywhere in the dash. Turn signal flasher is usually on the driver's side with the hazard flasher behind the glove box. You are looking for a round aluminum module about an inch wide and long with terminals on the end.

I think it was a yellow square one. Replaced it. Still no turn signals. Pushed in clutch they worked until I put it in reverse. As soon as I put it in reverse the fuse blew again

Look very carefully for a chafed wire around the clutch and brake pedals. Wires have been known to get caught in the pivot points and around the switches.

Yeah I looked. Couldn't see anything. I'm thinking it's the reverse switch.

Or the brake light switch or wiring from those switches. Touch and feel the wires from these switches to where they go under the carpet. One of them is shorting.

Also check the reverse-switch wiring on the side of the trans.

Which 4 fuses blew?

Take another look at the wiring harness up by the clutch. I had the exact same problem years ago. Turns out that the wires were chafed and only when I applied brake and clutch simultaneously (like when backing out of a driveway or parking space), it would short the circuit and blow the fuse. It may not be as obvious as to be seen by a casual inspection. I would get up there with a flashlight and really scour those wires.

How did you repair that chaffed wire and what was it rubbing on?

Didn't appear to be rubbing on anything. Put some electrical tape on it for a temporary fix.

The insulation is chaffed because something has been rubbing against it. Most likely the clutch and/or brake mechanisms when the pedals are being depressed. Perhaps when both pedals are depressed at the same time.Look again.
