NO2?

dry kits are nice but you need to not be a dumb ass with it. I feel they are the second safest nitrous when setup right.. safest being a direct port...

The problem with dry kits are the users.. they are retarded and run around with a big shot on stock injectors with the stock pump..

wet kits don't rely on the stock injectors and is easier to install and setup right, but remember the injectors can be left alone for big shots of juice but I still recomend you upgrade the fuel pump. , problem with wet kits are puddling in the intake and uneven A/F ratio due to trying to flow fuel where air is only meant to go.

Both systems have drawback and strong points..

A 75-100 shot is what you should run.

75 being the better ;)

I'm sure someone will chime in saying "run a 125 because I have been for 4192109 years and my engine still runs fine" but I wouldn't go over a 100 in a high-mileaged car.

Which kit are you looking at? Back in the day, I had a NOS kit on my car and it worked fine, though I am now considering running a Zex kit since they are cheap and a pretty simple kit.

So what would be the 'safest' shot to use on stock motor? Something really small?
The size of the shot really doesn't have anything to do with it.
It's the knowledge of the user.Mike is correct the dreaded puddling
and a nitrous backfire is what will hurt your engine. You can stop
fuel puddling by not spraying under 3K prm's.To avoid a nitrous backfire
you can retard your timing by a timing adjuster or handheld programer
before you go emptying bottles. The rule of thumb is retard 2* for every
50 shot sprayed so, if you were useing a 100 shot you would retard your
timing 4* to avoid detonation and hurting your engine.I always recommend
a window switch to be safe. Also if you plan on going with a 100 shot or more
you need to upgrade to a bigger fuel pump.On a stock 4.6L engine I wouldn't
spray more than a 150 shot to be honest. The safest way to go is getting a
tune before you start to spray.I had a H/C/I 92 GT and I ran a NX 75 shot for
three years and I never had a problem because I had a tune and I am a very
knowledgeable nitrous user.Since you have a 4.6L 2V their are two kits I would consider the new plate kits from Nitrous Express and NOS's NOSzzle kit
they would be idea for your car.I think direct port is the best also Mike.:nice:

Also I suggest reading the manu. info on the kit yuo are going to use. Some have certain things they want you to do. I've read some that say stock timing with up to 150hp shot, I've seen others that suggest pulling 3deg per 50hp. If your planning on spraying often, I'd suggest a flip chip style. That way you can have a good NA tune then flip the switch arm the nitrous and spray away. But that's me, using the handheld to flash ever time gets OLD quick.
