I just installed a 99-01 BBK CAI on my cobra and when I take off in first something is raddling in the front engine bay. I have BBK CAI installed correctly. The only thing I can think of is maybe the metal clamp holding the filter is rubing up on some other metal under the fender wall. The raddle happens when I lunch the car or taking off in first.

Please tell me what you think and what I should do.

Thanks

Did you notice the rattling right after the intake install? If there is a heat shield for the CAI it could be rattling.

I decided to return the BBK Intake back to Brothers because I believe during hard lanches and take offs in 1st the intake was hitting the side of my engine bay. I'm planning on buying a C & L intake system or maybe evena JTL CAI.

Usually they rub on the shock tower. I have had this on many of my stangs, but I could never hear it.....I could just see warn paint.

Your exactly right. what do you think about a 99-01 C & L intake system? You think it will rub like the BBK?

Get the JLT but get the "ram air" kit not the other one...the whole system puts the filter damn near the floor and will likely suck up water during heavy rain, get the ram ir kit and it comes with a heat shield, i have a C&L and the aluminum pipe gets BLAZING hot under the hood so stay with the ABS JLT.

Great information. I was wondering how hot the C & L gets. Thanks.

I am not sure, but the C and L kit looks just like BBK I think. You could ding in the BBK pipe in that area. You shouldn't be able to see that either because of the angle it is on.

I'm pretty sure it was the first part of the BBK CAI intake that was hitting the shock tower. The part that comes out of the throttle body.

I think I'm going to go with a JTL short ram. What do you think?

The Jlt should be a little bit better. I think they are straighter.

Installed my JLT ram air intake on my cobra today. Way better than the BBK. So much more air coming in I think I might have to get a throttle body 65mm in the future..?
