I've got a 2007 GT Coupe with about 8500 miles and over the last few months it's developed an annoying little noise from the dash near the base of the windshield. It's a subtle pulsating wind or air pressure noise. I'm wondering if it's coming from the defroster vents, like there's something flapping around down there or not sealing. It occurs on the highway at say 60 to 80 miles per hour and can only be heard with the windows up. The weird thing is, if the windows are open and then closed it takes a half a minute or so until the noise occurs, like a pressure buildup causes it. Anyone have any ideas or experience with this sort of problem?

I havent heard of this problem yet but our cars do have very noisy interiors. Mine has squeeks and rattles and most mustangs do, especially when its cold. But I have learned that you just have to deal with it. Or turn up the sterio!

Jeez. An 07 with 8500 miles on it? Take it back to the dealer and have them fix it. My 07 hasn't had rattle or noise problems, but my son's did. The dealer had to pull the dash to tighten up a connection but they did it, under warranty, like it should be. That's what the warranty is for.

My wifes 06 had a rattle on the passenger side in the dash. Took two trips to the dealer to eliminate it.

If you switch out the stock mufflers for something like SLP Loudmouth's, you will never hear a squeeks or rattle again, lol!

HELLO...is this a muscle car or is it a freakin' Mercedes??????? A "true" sports car is to be loud and have its share of noises... I could see this being annoying in a more civilized V6, but the GT...I kinda beg for it!!!!! It gives it "character".

There's no excuse for rattles or squeeks in a brand new car, no matter if it's a Bugatti or a Geo Metro. Take it to the dealer.

Thanks for the reply's. Maybe I need a louder exhaust system, but I liked the car better when the dash didn't have the noise, my new Fusion doesn't make annoying sounds like the Mustang.

I think there is a TSB that will help in this spot. I can't recall the number for it but it pertains to a clamp on the exhaust of all things. A buddy had this problem and I pointed it out, our local dealer finally got it fixed when he mentioned that.

For what it's worth, I found the source of my noise problem. It was the shifter boot which had dried out somewhat and began chaffing. I wiped it down with some sort of vinyl/leather conditioner and that was the end of that.

One of those subtle but annoying sounds that drove me nuts for awhile. Now I'm happy again, at least until the next problem.
