Anyone ever have this?? When my wheels rotate I can hear a squeak. It doesnt happen when I break. I was thinking maybe bearings need to be greased or....????? Any thoughts????
Well, what sucks is that the bearings "can't" be greased. Someone posted a way to do it but they are not meant to be re-greased. You are supposed to buy new ones. That is probably your issue. It doesn't sound like the pad touching the rotor as it rotates does it? If so, that's no prob....
jack the car up so the wheels are OFF the ground. with them off the ground grab the wheel (might as well do all 4) at the top and bottom... push on the top part of the wheel (like you are trying to push the wheel into the engine bay) and pull on the bottom (like you are trying to rip the wheel off the car) doy you get any play? now reverse it, push on the bottom and pull on the top.
if you are getting play in the wheel location then yes its your bearing... i cant remember how much they cost but its middle range and mildly easy to replace. mine are shot now at 140k but they are not that bad so i am holding off till i pay of a few other things, then going to hit all 4 corners.
also, its said that if your wheel bearings are going out then the wheels temperature will be hotter then normal after a mid length drive... however this would be if one wheel is abnormally hot compared to the other side of the car (this method of testing is worthless if BOTH sides have worn wheel bearings)
this and your brakes draging little would be the only reason for this noise... however, you really have not described it well... so we are going on the assumption that your assumption is correct.
