So i got my car back together last night at like 3am. I put FMS 1.7 rockers in stead of the stock ones. It seems pretty noisy though. Like i can hear it bounceing off walls when i drive by. I drove it around to bring it to temp and it drove great, like a brand new car. i got on it once and it pulled hard just like before. Should i be worried?

Its semi-common for them to be noisy...I'd drive it some to get em all pumped up good, then pull it in and whip the upper off and re-do em...

some say to put 500 miles or so on and they can/will/do calm down some?? Depends on how noisy they are...Mine would do the same thing, when driving i could hear the valvetrain bouncing off of houses and such....I just re-adjusted em again...it may never be as quiet as stock...thats the price we pay for playing with em....depends on how much it bothers you I guess....
I was even running the stock rockers and it was noisy...i swapped in some Scorpions and it calmed it down some...

your not alone in trying to get the thing stock quiet...it may never get there...

Hope that helps some...

Ok well i drove it around for a while and it was still pretty loud, so now we took the valve covers off again. We are takin the bigger shims out and might try the smaller ones all around or no shims at all. Anyone got the FMS 1.7 Rockers with stock E7TE heads, did u have to use any shims??

i have them with my e7's, they are designed to be a stock replacement, i used no shims, and have had no trouble. However when i had my heads mille i installed the same .035 shim to match what i had milled off.
