Need a little insight on what to look for on an 04 GT Vert. I'm a first generation guy, and know next to nothing on late model stuff. What problem areas should I be checking on this model?
Overall the 99-04 GT's are great cars if unmolested. The only big problem i've heard of is the intake manifold on 99-01 gt's cracking at the coolant crossover (because it is a plastic manifold.) Ford solved this in the 02-up gt's by making the crossover out of aluminum. So you're safe there. I would mainly be judging by normal standards like tires, brakes, mileage, service history, exterior and interior condition, driveability, condition of the vert top, etc.
Traction control is part of the ABS system for the 2004 model year. They come as a package so if the Traction Control OFF button is not under the radio (middle button) then the car has no ABS.
I beleive most were sold without ABS. I remember this because when i was searching for a 2004GT i wanted ABS and had a hard time finding one with it.
