When you do a AOD to 5-speed swap, do i need anew computer. I'd rather not get a chip or anything

NO you do not...I did it and kept my AOD computer and it's fine...ant that is the straight answer...

My car is a stock 5 speed car, converted to a C4, converted back to a 5 speed. Same computer since it rolled off the assymbly line.

When I did my 5 speed swap I left the stock auto computer wit no probs.Heard it had more agressive timing too so maybe thats a little plus.

NO you do NOT have to use a manual tranny computer.

I don't think i can be any more clear.

Did my AOD to T5 swap last summer.... left the AOD computer in the car....works fine. If there's a downside to not changing the computers, I haven't found it yet.
