so i bought what i thought was an aluminum DS off of ebay.
got here yesterday, took it out of the box and stuck a magnet to it and it stuck
i called the guy today and he says he honestly thought it was aluminum.
he says he will refund my money friday.

i'm not mad,just bummed.
guy sounded like a good guy,and was very reasonable on the phone.

just to be sure, can anyone tell me if this is the part number for the factory steel shaft?

C3AAB 40 (it was advertised as an FRPP M-4602-G)

looks like it was painted to look aluminum.

man,i feel like a dummy

Just checked an old rusty OEM driveshaft I have lying around here (kinda have a mini-junkyard in my backyard of scrap Mustang parts), and it has the same number: C3AAB. It's an OEM driveshaft painted silver. At least the guy is refunding your money - hopefully.

Now you can turn around and sell it for a couple bucks and get the better end of the deal.
