We as well as many popular magazines talk about the best way to make more power, but what about just getting more of what you already have to the ground? I am running mid to low 13's with the most common bolt on's and now looking at a turbo kit, but would like some advice on what to put behind it. Also what would a more bullet proof and light weight drive train be worth now? I was thinking a light weight flywheel, light kevlar disk clutch&pressure plate, Drive-shaft, and 3.90 or 4.10 gears? Any input is always appreciated!

You already have the LCA's. Other things that will help are... Front swaybar delete, sticky tires, upper control arms, panhard bar, drag springs. Pretty much anything in the suspension category will help.

I agree that I have a ton of work to do in my suspension set up right now, but I am having trouble balancing the the drag strip, open road, and auto cross type of set up. I was using the old 60's cobra receipt, if you can't get it to turn that well, just over power the straights and slide it thought the twisties. So I was going with the sure thing and looking to put more power to the ground and I am looking into tires as we speak, thinking 255/45-17 Hoosier slicks for the track.

Honestly, you need to pick one type of racing. If you try to race in all of them, you may do ok in each, but you'll never be great at any.

I know, but I want my cake and I plan on eating it too! I lean more to drag racing but want to keep enough so I can still play in auto-cross (just play not compete) and still fly around on entrance and exit ramps.

In the interest of "not more power, just more to the ground" I installed 4.10 gears and a big stall converter in my 07 GT automatic. All stock under the hood (stock paper air filter, stock exhaust, etc.), but better use of the power that came from the factory. With drag radials, my car has run a best 1/4 mile of 13.28 @ 102+. Best 1/8 mile is 8.44 @ 81+.

with a turbo you might want to stick with 3.73's.

13.28 with so little invested. Keep up the good work. I am hopping to surprise some people when I buy my next round of parts, which now will include some gears and sticky rubber!

Steer well clear of a drag race suspenion package then! The Roush or Steeda suspension kits handle both drag strip and twisties quite well in both N/A and S/C form The Roush Stage 3 beats the GT500 on the road course.

Yeah, drag springs and front swaybar delete would not be cool for autocross.

sway bar delete in autocross, man that would be a ride and a show to watch!

I was thinking about the Saleen kit and the rest of the suspension done up in heavy duty BMR. Any ideas how that might turn out?

Sounds good to me. I love BMR's stuff. I can't wait to order more.

Now I wanna go find a beater and take the front sway bar out and take it to some abandoned parking lot
