but I'm contemplating on what to do next. My car will be paid off in like 10 months so around xmas I want to do something radical to my car. I was thinking even a turbo (so I can get another turbo later...for twin turbo? is that how it works or no) or would I be better off staying N/A and getting S281 heads (if you can...can't you?) and intake, or getting Mach1 heads and Cobra intake. I figure that supercharging it would cost more than putting the 4v heads/intake/cam package would anyway, and possibly produce similar numbers? I'd like to stay away from FI but if I have to...

oh, and I also got my long tubes and 3.73s put in already...the long tubes won't hurt putting the other heads in would they? They're all 281s, thought they'd match...I sure hope so

Before we can suggest stuff to you, let me make the biggest suggestion anyone can give you. You need to sit down and decide what you want with the car. Is it your everyday driver, rain or sun? Is it a 1/4 mile car? Or will you go to the track couple times a month. How important is handling and braking? Trust me, you will waste a lot of money if you do not plan out the car ahead of time and figure some goals you want. Been there done that. Once you do that, THEN we can make some suggestions

Thanks for the quick reply. It's my daily driver now, but I have another daily driver. Handling and braking didn't even cross my mind but I plan to go to the track a few times a month. I DO want the car to be naturally aspirated and it's probably a good idea...I only want the car to run upper 12s. Maybe 12.7. I don't need anything faster.

Thanks for your imput though. I should start looking into suspension upgrades too

You can reach upper 12s with good driving, bolt-ons, gears, proper suspension setup, built rear and tires, if my memory serves me correctly.

The 4v head swap will be wayyyy expensive. FI would actually probably be cheaper. Anotherm good idea would be to build it from the bottom up(meaning suspension first). Just an idea.

Sorry, to break it to you, but saleens had the same 2V heads. Cheap centri boost or spray, with suspension and nice wheels/tires

Alot of guys have made it into the 12's with full exhaust, gears, u/d pullies, tubular k-member, suspension and slicks. You don't need to make a ton of power to get into the 12's with these cars, just need to get the power you have to the ground efficiently.

My old 00 gt had 3.73's, catted h pipe, mac catback, bbk cold air kit, rpm intake plenum and bbk throttle body. It was lowered on bbk springs and I ran heavy 17x9 chrome cobra wheels at all 4 corners. WIth MT drag radials the car ran 13.1 at 104. I didnt have a tuner or tune on the car. With a tune it shoulda went 12's I feel. So you said you are getting long tubes and 4.10's. Thats the right step. The stock springs wouldnt be bad if you want to run 12's. Probably some strange adjustable shocks and struts would help out. Also get some upper and lower control arms, sub frame connectors as well. Your going to need some good drag radials or slicks. And as far as the motor, intake plenum, t.b., cold air kit such as a JLT, under drive pullies, and a set of cams. I am not sure who has some good cams as a lot of people used to run the VT stage 1's or 2's. With those mods and a good tune and some good driving it should run mid to high twelves no problem
