notchy clutch??

Anyone know what causes the clutch to feel like it's ratcheting as you slowly push it to the floor?? I just can't think of anything, unless there's a cheap bearing in the clutch quadrant mounting scheme that goes to hell and develops "detents".

Any solid ideas??

NO ONE knows what this is, or has experienced it themselves??

Mine does it sometimes... not sure what the deal is though. Here's what I do to make it go away though. I put the car in first gear, pull back on the clutch pedal with my toe until it's out as far as it goes, then push it back in all the way and release. After that, no more ratcheting.
