After almost 1 year of slow progress, measuring all clearances 3 times, checking all torque specs twice, saving for this piece and that piece, My BEAST finially came to life last night! It was beautiful.... I primed the oil pump, primed the carburator, gave it 3 squirts, cranked it for about 1-1/2 seconds and VAROOOM. Open headers, 10:45 P.M., garage door open. I idled it up to 2000 and let her purr.....

Holy Crap!!! Now I've got the motivation to finish the body work. I haven't had a stang for 20 years. My last one was a '70 with a pretty well built 302, but this beast will be wicked. Funny how things sound faster with open headers

You think it sounds fast with open headers, try putting on a chrome thermostat housing; I think they add 50 h.p.!

Twenty years, I laugh at you! I had to wait 30 years to get my second Mustang, but I have to agree, open headers are bitchin.

I even added a chrome Monte Carlo Bar for 12 extra HP (and so I wouldn't have to ever cut out and replace shock towers again).

It's a Comp Cams XE268H hydraulic cam, not roller. Just roller rockers.
