Hi All,

Recently bought a 99 GT and notice a problem pattern.

After driving on the freeway for say 20 minutes or so (high speed) I take an exit. After the stop light, I start to move forward and notice this reoccuring sound (sounds like a cricket on steroids) on the drivers side (may also be occuring on the passenger side too). The sound continues as the speed is maintained or increases. When slowing down, the sound goes away but as soon as I hit the gas again the sound is back.

If I then stop and shut off the car for 5 minutes or so and then start driving again the sound is gone but returns again as soon as I duplicate the above again. The problem never happens when driving around town.

I was thinking maybe the accessories pully or the serpentine belt is heating up and the sound starts?

This car has 68k original miles.

thx,

techsent
