Now I really feel stupid...... Help with Cap/Rotor/Wires Install

This is ridiculous, installing wires would be the last thing I tohught I would need help on. :nonono: I got Ford Racing Wires and a Accel cap/rotor. The wire that goes from the cap to the coil doesnt fit(unless theres something I need to do for it to plug on to it) so the stock wire for that is still on. Now that I got the rest of them on car sounds different when running and when i drove it around the block it hesitates and crackles and does NOT run good at all. What the hell did I do wrong?!?!?!

For the coil wire, I just reused the end piece that connects to the coil and stuck it on my new wires. As for your problems... did you get ALL the wires back in the right position? Check out the FAQ sticky at the top for the firing order for the distributer.

yeah, just make sure you have all the wires on the correct plugs and that they are all the way on.. The FMS wires are usually numbered so that makes it a little easier on you to check... Also for some reason I always want to think that the right side of the motor starts off at 6 and not 5...

Hope this helps a little

Yes, you'll have to cut into your new coil wire and strip the wire of all the insulation about an inch from the end, fold the wire back, put the new metal end piece on, use pliars to clamp it shut, install rubber boot. Sorry it took so long for me to respond.

Anytime BlueOvalStangGT. First time I changed my plugs I took ALL of my wires off to clean them, didn't think about their position on the cap, and when I put them back on, I started off with the #1 wire in the right place, then went on around in numerical order  My car felt slower than a 17 sec civic.
