NPD Door Shell Assemblies (complete)

Worked well for me.

I bought a pair about a year ago, maybe longer, (Edit: bought summer of 2007) and was happy with them. These were the new and improved variety. The fit was excellent for a repro part. All the ancillary items fit fine (door handles, lock rods, felts, windows, etc.) The cost was reasonable.

The downsides were only a few: the door skin was wavy but probably not unexpectedly so (more than my original tooling front fenders though) and could be worked before paint, one hinge mounting hole was either stripped or drilled too large requiring a longer bolt and a washer/nut, the door weatherstrip channel was missing one hole on each door (but maybe that needs to be drilled when first used?) and the two other holes were a little too large compared to my OE doors and repro weatherstrips. So that's basically it for the bad. These aren't a big deal and perhaps they are better today or just my bad luck.

I didn't double-check the thickness of the metal compared to OE but figured they'd be thinner anyway. I added Dynamat Extreme inside the new doors, and they feel and sound solid.

I put a thick bead of 3M seam sealer along the inside edge within the door shell at the bottom to keep water from getting into that lower door skin seam. I don't think they did this back in the 60's and we all know the bubbling lower door issues as a result. So hopefully these doors will last many years.
