o/r Xpipe vs. o/r H-pipe

Good point Loot, and welcome...wish I had more of you!
I should have kept my OEM H, but I'm in too deep now to turn back to stock. But I wish I could a little easier. And yeah, buying a modified car will scare most people. When I went looking for mine (in 2003), I wanted an almost new (01-02) that was virgin...fortunately, I found my black 02 - just what I wanted.
The 01 however, had been modified, raced, and beat on a bit...it's just not the same as my 02.

Are Aluminum pipes durable? i cant seem to find stainless steel ones.

They are coated in an aluminum substance and yeah it does help resist rusting. I just saw you were here in FLA...we need all the protection we can get.
MRT makes the only stainless steel H that I am aware of. Super high quality, but you'll pay as much for their OR one as you'd pay for others catted versions. Still, if you want the best, they make it. I had the catted H, sold it for dirt cheap a year or so ago. I couldn't get the cats' heat shields to stop banging against my subframe connectors.

This also depends on your mufflers though.

Yeah, I have the BBK o/r H-pipe and when I downshift to slow down it gets a little burble and a couple pops, I like it though, makes it sound like an exotic.

Ironically enough thats me I have Magnaflows and the BBK pipe had to be modified to weld to the Magnas, car already had a catback with reducers to go from 2.5 to 2.25 on the stock H. I just installed (had paid to have) the H-pipe.

I agree. I'd also like to add that if you ever decide to sell the car you're gonna wanna have that stock mid pipe with cats lying around to switch back to. Some potential buyers may be scared off by an o/r pipe especially if they have to go through emissions testing. Definately buy an o/r h-pipe and keep your stock one.

When I was shopping I tried to find as stock as possiable, always want to make sure it was done right.

Thanks That's exactly what I looked for when I bought mine too. I found an 02 GT that only had only been modified with an aftermarket catback with 27k miles and the original tires.

you should really do some reaserach on it, but like most have said:

H-pipes are more deep and have more grunt down low

X-pipes are more raspier sacrifice some low end for top end ( i had a Baasani X on the car)

the Prochamber gives the best of both sides deep tone on the low RPM's, good low end very good top end and it screams WOT (current mid pipe)

After i swapped to the prochamber form my X-pipe i had my dyno guy pull out an old run for comparison and the Prochamber out performed the X but this is on my car and personal experience

I actually had the flowmasters and just went to magnaflows a few months ago due to the flowmasters rusting out from the top on me. I imagine these magnaflow weld-ins will do the same, but I just wanted a change.

The reason I changed to a custom H from the original prochamber I once had years ago was due to inspection. I was afraid of failing at the time due to that pipe, though now it really doesn't matter since most inspectors in this area don't check all that much. It also helped that I had a friend wanting to buy the prochamber from me for a nice price

For what its worth--I actually just won a bid on ebay for another prochamber and it'll be going on next week. I miss that sound and just hope it sounds as good with the magnaflows.

Just look around on ebay man. I happened to win mine for $132 after shipping so it was a steal

It's just hard to be patient and wait for a good deal to come along
