i need to know what the best O-ringed head gasket money can buy i keep blowing mine these will be the 3rd set form fel pro that i toast

i was really thinking about the cometic ones but i dont know which one is for stock O-ringed heads

can somebody give a part # or help me out

Blowing or leaking?
If blowing its likely your tune, and if leaking its bad installation the are a pain to line up just right on the cylinder head

The fel pros are top notch

Multi-Layer Steel
Cometics are MLS, Fel pro also sells a nice MLS

They have no o-ring and dont have to spend the $$ to have the groove machined in your head, they have layers of steel that make up the gasket. They are the gasket of choice, were the o-rings were 4-5 years ago
They come in custom thickness, are reusable and seal like no other. Most hi hp boosted engines run these

getting the heads milled at a machine shop is no big deal, but if you dont wanna do that then yes you have to run lockwires

It would take .010 thou at most to mill the o-ring groove out.

depends on who did the work. i just saw (3 days ago) a set of cast heads that had to be cut .030 to get the grooves out.

i would get them machined out, then go with the cometics. haven't had any problems since i put these in. and i don't exactly baby it either. used to blow head gaskets all the time
