I need help on this one guys, I just got a check engine light and is throwing P0158 and P0156 codes which both are realted to the o2 sensor do you guys know which is bank 2 and sensor 2? also whats the differece between upstream sensor or downstream sensor

Thanks in advance

JM

Ps. My car is running really bad, when you hit the throttle, its like it waits for like a second and then starts to go. Is this in any way related to the o2 sensor?

The upstream sensor is before the cat and the downstream is after the cat. I believe the only purpose of the downstream sensor is to measure catalyst efficiency. Your code is for drivers side downstream sensor.

I had the same issue after I put on the Prochamber and installed the Diablo tune. I thought it was a bad O2 but the car was running VERY lean. Did you make any changes to the car before the light came on?

The O2 is probably bad. If you had aftermarket midpipe it would give you a catalyst below acceptable range code. I had the same code on my Expedition. Replaced the O2 and that cleared it up.

It could. Anytime the CEL is on it could be affecting the way the computer handles it's management of the engine.
