My carb turbo Pace Car does not have an O2 sensor (cause it's so old). I was thinking it would be very important once I start cranking up my boost past 10lbs to know what my air/fuel ratio was. So I have to buy an O2 sensor and bung. Are they all the same? I was seeing some Bosch sensors and bungs advertised. Once I get the sensor/bung where would I get it welded? At the pipe right before the cat? I have a crossunder pipe on my car. Would it be better before or after the turbo? Does it matter? What is a wideband sensor? Is it different?

Now, hold on here. An O2 sensor doesn't tell you what your air/fuel ratio is. Moreover I'm not sure how you could add an O2 sensor to a vehicle that never came with one from the factory. Do you mean you want an air/fuel gauge?

I suppose I should have said that I want to have an air/fuel guage in the car that shows me what the air/fuel mixture is. The other end of the guage is the O2 sensor, no???

no. you can use an o2 sensor but most people that i know use a/f sensors i believe you can get them at any autopart store but people i know that race at the track use them so they can tune the carb easier

Hmmm. Maybe I'm not being clear enough. I need to know if I can use a Autometer Cobalt Air/Fuel gauge in conjunction with an O2 sensor or an air/fuel sensor. Is there any other equipment needed? Is it simply hooking the guage up to the sensor that I would mount in the exhaust stream somewhere?

i am pretty sure that an o2 sensor won't work. and as far as i know the only think you have to do is put the sensor in the exhaust and hook it up to the gauge.

I don't think an O2 sensor will work either.

Think about it, an A/F gauge has three wires. One gets a 12V source, one gets the SIG from the O2 sensor, and the other is a ground for the LEDs. Now with the SIG wire for the A/F attached to the O2, what is gonna power the sensor itself?

Im not sure if the EGO circuit is 12 or 5V but maybe you could wire a constant source to supply the O2 sensor...?

EDIT: If you truely wanna know your air/ fuel ratio, go for a LM1 wideband from Innovative Motorsports. It'll be easier and more accurate
