so when i drive my car , it kinda like misses at certain times, under 75% throttle usually, and i have to hammer it for it to come back o life, it doesnt actually stall, but its like its missing, i ran codes and got an oxygen sensor code, but im not sure the sensors could cause such a dramatic problem. the gas milage is ****ty, so im not sure what it is. when it is "missing" the tach doesnt drop like it would if the pickup or tfi is bad. anyone got any ideas?

Part throttle problems can usually be attributed to a bad TPS sensor. They're cheap to replace so it' wouldn't be a bad idea. The crappy mileage could be due to worn out O2 sensors. I'd buy both of them just to be safe. You may want to buy the Ford Racing sensor kit either way. It's a better deal than just buying the O2 sensors alone and you get a whole slew of other sensors to boot.

If you're getting an O2 code, you should change the sensors, no doubt. And crappy gas mileage is a symptom of a bad O2 sensor. If the sensors aren't working, the car stays in open loop mode; closed loop mode is more efficient. However, that may not be all of it. Keep working the codes until the ecu tells you it's happy, and then see what, if any, symptoms you have.

My 87 Gt did the exact same thing. I unpluged the O2 sensors and that went away, pluged them back up and back it was. New sensors fixed it.
