o2 sensor problem

I was putting my stock H pipe back on the other day and when I went to mount it up, the o2 sensor was not letting it clear an obstable. It is the o2 sensor on the passenger side right by the manifold (before the cats). So what I did was unscrew it and bolt up the mid-pipe. Right now it sounds like either an old pickup or an old VW Bug because I have a gaping hole right after my manifold. Any advice?

So what obsticle is there now that wasn't there when the pipe was on originally?

Nothing is there that wasn't before. I probably just have to force it up there, hoping not to snap the o2 sensor.
