altoona,p.a
well i took off my old o2 sensors today to find out that the one is smashed to bits because it was rubbing off the frame apparently the h pipe was put on at a diff angle or somthing...anyways is it possible that could be a problem and also would that affect voltage if it was touchign the frame...maybe grounding itself out

The O2 sensor shell is grounded through the H pipe. The O2 sensors have a separate power ground that is part of the injector harness. It connects to an intake manifold bolt or a bolt on the head.

Rubbing won't hurt as long asit doesn't rub the insulation off the wiring. Crushed will hurt.

Dump the codes and see what the computer says is wrong with the O2 sensors…

Here's the link to dump the computer codes with only a jumper wire or paper clip and the check engine light, or test light or voltmeter. I’ve used it for years, and it works great.

the only codes im getting are

koeo 11-11-1-34-96

koer 4-94-44

cyl test i got a 9 which is ok

it seems that the only codes i get now are for constant memory and for my smog which is ok cause i have it deleted...im getting an 11 which is system ok...i have only to try these o2 sensors i needed them anyways there old cant hurt....also notcied today that my exhaust tips are black and my buddy said he could smell fuel when he was following me it seems to run ok when the idle finally settles and under wot...but some days it runs better than other days....so do you think the o2 sensors could be the culprit i know sometimes they dont trigger a cel..also my car doesnt have a cold idle it will idle hi for about 5-8 seconds then drop down and start the surging like in my opinion it seems as if the ecu is sending it into closed loop (limp mode)
