my mechanic broke one of my front o2 sensors taking it out and i used mil eliminators on the back 2 so he put the rear one in the front is this ok? they are factory sensors he said he had to trim the plug alittle to fit.

Front o2 sensors differ from rear o2 sensors.

Im sure you noticed you got a CEL, and your car running rich and like poo. It's because the front sensors help determine your a/f ratio.

Make him buy you new OEM FORD sensors, not bosch or whatever from Autozone.

The only difference in the front and rear o2's is the harness. The actual o2 is the same. I have used my rear ones in the front with no issues.

very bad idea:nonono: they are NOT the same. we have seen several cars come in our shop wth the EEC shorted-out because someone did this. not a good idea, unless you like to spend alot of $$$ wth me:rlaugh:

oh......and please DO NOT buy aftermarket ones:notnice:

I usually agree with you but not on this one. They are the same four wire sensor, and I have datalogged the exact same readings from both sensors. If some one shorted them out it was because of their wiring job when they changed the pigtail.
