I can't remember the size but you just use a wrench, maybe 1" or 3/4", it's bigger.

7/8" wrench works for me. If you have never taken them off before, they might be a little hard to break loose. Good luck

I've seen O2 sensor sockets before. They have a notch in them for the electrical pigtail.

But those sockets are for cars that have the O2 sensor in the header or somewhere else you can't get a wrench on them. On our cars a normal 7/8 wrench is all you need.

Get a 6 sided 7/8" inch wrench with a small hole on one of the sides that will let you put the wires through. That way you wont round it and it'll hold with however much torque you give it.

I JUST got mine out about 10 minutes ago. One was really stubborn. On the first one I used a 15 inch crescent wrench and it came out slowly. The other one , I tried the stupid O2 socket, it just stripped it, so I had to use an 8 inch pipe wrench and a 2 ft breaker bar (with some pb blaster) and it came out.

What does it mean if they are a light gray to white color??

02 sensor socket or a 7/8" 60 degree deep offset wrench for the really stuck ones.
