OBDII MAF swap question

I got an 80mm MAF from a 98 Mark VIII, but it has what I was told is the OBDII connector on it, which is the more square shaped connector. I cut the connector/pigtail out that goes to the Mark VIII MAF, can I just splice it in?
 
Here's a pic of what I mean, bottom is stock MAF with oval connector, top is the Mark VIII with the ssquarish connector:

MAF's and computers are matched units: you cannot use a MAF from another model computer on your computer without a custom tune/custom chip.

Each series of MAF's have a transfer curve that is unique to that series of MAFs. The computer's internal tables translate the voltage from the MAF to a specific airflow volume to calculate the correct air/fuel ratio. Use a different MAF than the computer was designed to work with and the air/fuel ratio will be wrong. The engine may run, but with reduced power, fuel economy and driveablity

The only MAF that is a one for one swap for a 93 and earlier 5.0 Mustang is the 94-95 Mustang MAF which is found in a number of Ford vehicles.

The A2A, AA, AB, etc, on the end of the part number are minor changes that do not affect the calibration.
 
If you're planning the A4 based KB blown stroker in your sig, a Lightning MAF + tune may be a better route to take. They can be had for usually around $100, and you'll just need a tune at that point.
 
Well this brings up a question on my set-up. It was originally from a 87 lincoln lsc with speed density and converted. The MAF used has a square 4 bolt flange and is approx 60mm at the narrowest point. The module has the part# F37F 12B579FA and 3J22. Can anyone identify it and tell me if its o.k. to use? Thanks
