I'm looking into an exhaust system for a 99-04 GT.

It will be stock manifolds/headers and a catted X pipe. I want it loud so was thinking small single straight tru silencer per bank 2.5" tube and 3-3.5" tips.

Suggestions please.

Thanks.

Magnaflow.

I don't particularly like how SLP sounds.

My Son has Magnaflow catted X with an SLP loudmouth catback, I don't consider it obnoxious but it is sweet sounding and fairly loud. If you want loud why not just run straight pipe instead of mufflers/resinators.

Magnapacks are teh win! I wouldn't describe them as obnoxious, just hella loud when you get above 2500 RPMs.

Me neither. Though my neighbors might disagree and maybe I'm jsut used to them now but at least inside the car below say 2000 rpms they aren't that loud, but the higher u rev the louder they get. When I drive through the city u can definitly here it boom off buildings like a harley, people are always jumping back or snapping their neck to see if a tornado just went by. The SLP catback has resonators no mufflers, it's damn loud with a stock H and even a little obnoxious but I think it sounds different, more raw but pretty good at least on my friend '03 Cobra it does.

The Magnapacks or SLP are very similar and both will make children and small animals run.

Magnapacks all the way.

Sweetest set up Ive heard (my opinion) was a Mystic Cobra with LT, O/R H and Packs. Think that one even had medium sized animals and large children running

Another vote for Magnapacks!

I like setting off car alarms when I drive past. And people turn and look when I first fire up the car. There is no "real" drone at 2000 rpms but there is a nice note that is not disturbing at all.

Only downside is people now think I have tons more hp than I actually do...

Man reading this thread really makes me want to get my o/r H + magnapack combo setup on my car. It's sitting in my garage right now. I was going to have a shop do it, but some shops want like $150 and keep the car for a whole day. That's bull***** if you ask me. I'll save some money and attempt to do it myself.

1. slp
2. magnapack
3. spintech

It will be hard to be too obnoxious with cats though. if you really want loud ditch them.

If your looking for obnoxious then SLP with an off road x.

If your looking for REALLY obnoxious then go with SLP cat back, off road x, and WHISTLE TIPS.

I have o/r x and slp catback with the 3.5 tips and it is very, very loud and very raspy upon acceleration. I'm thinking about doing something different. I don't want the unwanted attention.
