Probably because rain or shine, Chebby's are still slow!! :owned:

probably a stupid question, but im curious.

how does it work going to run? you just pay at the booth, and go line up for the track? i am 17, is there an age limitation? kind of considering making a pass since ill have my heads and stuff on by then.

if someone could give me a quick layout of how it works, id appreciate it.

If you are able to ge get a WA Drivers License you are old enough to race at the track. Since this is your first time at the track, you are require to do some paperwork at their office(The tower),after you pay the girl at the ticket booth, forget how much it was ,but it is slightly higher with the one time set-up fee( A rip off )IMHO. Since this is a FORD/Chevy Day,parked next to some Mustang or other Ford closer to your model years(Not the big boys with their fancy $$$$$$$ race car). Most racer are very helpful when coming to question and answer, just don't start telling peoples why you won't have a intake, blower, exhaust etc etc like what they have on their car and you will make a lot of friends:). After you unload your car of all those extra weight and loose gears(Ice cooler, chair, spare tire and jack etc etc),it is time for tech inspection, drive up to the staging lane and park behind other cars there and wait your turn for tech, most car that is legal for street driving will pass, unless you have something that is leaking, bad bald tire or no battery hold down( a rope won't do,have seen it first hand ). Be ready to make your first pass down the track, the track guys will wave you up but they expected you to know something about how the systems work,so read up and watch/talk to other racer before the raceday. Those guys get a LITTLE PISS when people give them a blank stare back. And what ever you do,don't do a John Force burn out pass the staging light, thats reserve for the Honda guys. So make us proud.
BTW don't expect to win too many races on your first time out at the track,it is a whole different ball game out there,it is not just about how many HP you have, but how can you used those power to get your car down the track. Don't get me wrong, power is good to have, but your engine/gearing/tires must work together as a team. If you have not been reading those Mustang magazines the past 5 years or so,you should start right now,a lots of info in between those pages. Since this is a Chevy/Ford Day,there will be a lot of trash talking from both camp, never seen a fist fight yet......And those later model LS1 or C5 will eat you up,so be warned:).

K.

 i keep a pretty mellow outlook on my car.

id expect to get my ass eaten alive by 90% of the people out there, just have a couple mods on my car now and would be interested to see what i could get out of it.

i might hold off until the beginning of next year or the next time im up there to try it. all everyone needs is my dumbass out there confused on a big event.

thanks for the info
