My car runs great some days, and others it seems to be holding back. Its been that way for a month or so now. But more recently its been doing something kinda odd. I will be driving down the road at cruising speed and it will just surge forward without me giving it more gas... Like I was dragging the brakes and let off... Then other times Ill be cruising down the street and it will do just the opposite! The rpms dont change, it doesnt bog, just feels like I put my foot on the brakes. I cleaned the EGR cause I found a lot of threads saying that causes our cars to run poorly. Something else I was considering is that I have an O/R H-pipe w/out cats, which was installed prior to me purchasing the car. I assume I have the O2 sensor caps since my CEL is not on... Could those O2 adaptors have a say in how the car is running like it is? My brakes arent dragging, I already checked that, and there is no dust on the wheels like there would be if my calipers were seizing or sticking. It just seems so odd to me, and I hate knowing my baby isnt running to her full potential! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You have a GT? If so, you have 2 O2's and they should both be connected in OEM form, regardless if you have cats or not.

If you had a mod motor, you'd have a second set of O2's for cat converter efficiency monitoring. If you had no cats, then you'd need a simulator. You, however, dont.

For the part where it feels like the car is taking off, have you checked for a vac leak? A decent sized leak can create a feeling just like that. Any codes?

Good luck.

Thanks Hissin'. I dont have any equipment to check for codes... Ive rooted around for vac leaks, but everything seems to be where it needs to be and is in good condition. I cant be positive though, I need to take the time to look over all the hoses really well reguardless of appearance! I might take a look at my O2 sensors since they apparently are still installed in the H-pipe. I thought if you eliminated cats you had to get the MIL eliminator kit. Shows what I know! Thanks again for the suggestion, as I would love to have her running properly again!

You can pull codes with a paperclip, a pen, and a piece of paper.

What you do is...in the engine bay, back near the passanger side part of the engine there are two plugs.

Basically just look at the bottom right picture.
The rest is explained on that site.
