odd noise, near tranny

ok im at a stop light, i put the car in neutral and i hear a noise coming from near the tranny. i put the car back in gear and the noise goes away. the noise is only there when the car is in neutral and the pedal is released. sounds like something is spinning and hitting something else. by the way, has new clutch, pilot bearing, throw out bearing, the works. any ideas on where to begin??

Sounds like the throwout bearing.

did you grease the throwoutbearing before you put it on....if not that could be it

That's what mine was doing. I had the throwout bearing replaced and it kept making that noise. It ended up being my tranny. My car's in the shop right now getting a new tranny.

thanks for the help guys. ~FrankenStang~ thats what i was afraid of, have an appointment next week at the trans shop, and hopefully it is just a bearing, but they will let me know for sure.
