I bought some new wires today as I suspect one or more of mine are arcing. Problem is they didnt have the ones I was after in a custom fit set, so I went with the universal. I was hoping someone might know (for whatever odd reason..) the approx. lengths of the custom fit wires.

Normally it wouldnt be a problem, I could just go out and measure in the truck but we're scheduled for a small ice storm, its raining now and the temperature is dropping fast. I cant pull the truck in cause my dogs are in the garage - my truck wont fit with them in there. Their big and getting the truck in is a TIGHT fit.) - and I need to get the new wires on by tomarrow as Im taking the truck to my familys for the Holidays.

I dunno if anyone would know the lengths, and if not then I'm off to brave the rain and sub freezing temps, lol. But I figured I'd ask first and see if for whatever reason anyone know approx. lengths.

Honestly, if I were you I'd go & pop them off the car & make them all match what's on there. Atleast that way you know your not guessing. Plus it minimizes the time out of doors.

I got the same problem you do man... no garage. Sucks during the winter months.

I think I'm gonna do that, just pull what I have. Problem is the ones on there now are kinda random, heh. They were peiced together from like 3 other sets as a means to test the engine and make sure it all ran when the swap was more or less done. Half of em dont fit right, lol.

I feel ya on the garage though. I didnt have one for the first 5 years I was dealing with cars. I did an engine swap in my old Paseo in the middle of winter working evenings and nights, lol. God that was horrible. I have one now thankfully but its pretty tiny. One of those barely one car deals. I can get my truck in and work on it - its a pain, but it can be done. - but when the weathers bad I bring my dogs in.. Two Old English Mastifs and theres just no way both them and my truck can fit at the same time. Not if they want to be able to move that is. hehe.

hey bud.

for arcing wires, one can be in a dark space and carefully spray water (from a spray bottle) on the wires with the motor running. if arcing, you will see a light show. be careful of moving parts and all that stuff.

also, if your wires are a little loose fitting, wire looms can allow you to run and 'hold' them at strategic spots for best fitment.

good luck bud.

Thanks much guys,

Good tip Hissin, I already pulled my wires off to bring em in for fitment but a bud of mine suspects his wires may be bad so I'll be trying that out on his car.

ss93cobra,

Thanks for the lengths man. I'm gonna save those for future reference. I ended up cutting them by eye based on my older wires and how much I wanted to add/remove and it turns out I was pretty damn close, lol.
