97 sixer vert auto here. Speedo works fine but the odometer and trip odometer have stopped working. No other problems that I'm aware of. Easy or difficult fix? Is this an electrical or mechanical issue? Lastly, something a reasonably competent tool user could fix? TIA

umm, whats happeed is the little plastic gear that drives your odometer has been chewed up. Most likely cause is trying to reset odometer or trip meter while the car is moving. when mine stripped out i just bought a whole new cluster because there is a lot of inner working to be messed up when trying to fix the gear but other people have fixed the gear so heres the a link for a repair guide http://www.mpgautoparts.com/fordgearreplacement.html

It's an easy fix. I fixed mine in about an hour start to finish.

I'll report back when completed, looks simple enough now that I've read through the tutorial. Major thanks to Mike (Jinx102672) and StangNet.com for the DIY.
