i have a 96 cobra. My car when you are looking at the odometer cuts out at 6100 (the rev limiter kicks in) I am almost possitive that it is just the odometer because i think that my car is going the correct speed when i max it out in first and second. So normally i would just think to correct the odometer (not sure how anyway) But the speed i believe is correct up until about 3,000, then it has to be messed up between there and 7200. Some help???

Odometer?
Do you realize the odometer does not dipsplay RPM? It displays MILEAGE.

The Tachometer displays RPM.

Might be Fuel Regulator, I had the same issue at roughly the same RPMS.
Did not know it, until car just died and I had no fuel pressure at all now.

I think a fuel regulator is under $100 bucks.

I also thought the REV LIM was kicking in. Could not understand why.

One idea for you.
