Looking to install a radio in my 1992 LX. The original radio was missing when I purchased the car, and the previous owner did me the solid of also cutting the wiring harness.

The radio code from the door tag is 9, which is "am/fm clock cassette with electronic tune." I'm looking for some help in translating this to a Ford part number so that I can begin searching for correct radio.

Thx very much.

Are you wanting to put the factory radio back in it?

Yes. I have the coin tray, but I'd like to put the same radio back in, if possible.

You know an aftermarket unit would be much easier to get and offer alot more versatility and performance. But I can understand if you want to go all original. Try these guys.MPS

How many factory speakers do you have in the car?? 4 0r 6??

If you have 6, it is the premium sound system and you will need the factory amp along with the radio.

I beleive that 88-92 radios are all the same. They are pretty easy to find used on E-bay. NOS ones are pretty pricey.

As others have said, for the same amount of money, you can get a much better aftermarket radio.

I don't blame you for wanting to put the radio back to stock.
In all honesty, you will likely be better off going to the junkyard and getting everything from one donor.
You will need a new harness to hook it all back up.
