Off Center Rack Bushings, What are they for?

I saw some off centered rack bushings. The box said they were for lowered cars. What is the real purpose of these bushings?

They change the steering geometry to better match the lowered car.

Yeah I was reading that on a site a while ago.

I guess the way you use them is to position them so the rack is higher off the ground?

It's a cheap, easy, and not at all the best way to help correct bump steer on a lowered car. When you lower the car, you raise the tie rod end relative to the rack. The offset rack bushings help by raising the rack to align the tie rod end straight again with the rack/lower a arm. A bump steer kit is a much better way to correct this.
