OFF-ROAD H-PIPES AND X-PIPES????

anyone who has installed a offroad pipe that has gotten mil eliminators......when you plugged the mil into the sensors and zip-tied them down or however you mounted them.............(did you also just leave the oxgen sensors holes wide open????? or did you plug them up on your h-pipe or x-pipe?)

The oxygen sensors stay in place in the pipes and the mil elliminators plug in between the factory conections. Look at the O2 sensors before you remove the pipe there is a black plastic conector that conects the wires together about 6 inches from the sensor, unplug the conector and plug the mil in between them.

My CEL came on the first time I drove the car with them, turned the CEL off with the preditor and it has never came back on.
 
yes, plug the O2s in. i zip tied mine to the trans, using a couple of ties for each side. i dont want the engine flex to put stress on the wires/connectors. i made one loop to the tranny loosely, and then tightly tied another one to the MIL eliminator and that same loose zip tie. this way, it has some room to move it it needs to. just dont make it too loose.

i have not had any problems with the MIL coming on since the install.
 
thanks a lot for the quick replies but i think i am mistaken......okay the o2 sensors is on the passenger side (correct?).......the mil kit plugs into the two sensors behind them..(correct?).......currently on my car the are plugged in and zip tied off to the side...."no check engine light since i installed them"

1st question

the mils connected to the sensors that use to go directly into the the factory x-pipe............so basically i unplugged them, plugged in the mils and BANG im done......

my question is what about the original holes that the sensors use to plug into, did you just leave them open......or did you plug them
 
heres the best i could do without lifting the car....
you do the rear on each side. the drivers side looks like only one, because the front O2 is in the exhaust manifold.

its connected inline with the O2 sensor harness. just unplug the O2 sensor at this connection, plug the MIL eliminator in (they only go in one way), and connect the other end to the connector you removed.

think of it this way. its a sandwich, and the original harness ends are the bread, while the MIL eliminator is the meat. it just goes inline with the harness.
 
off road x (or h) will free up some restriction. the stock cats flow pretty well, but there are gains to be made by eliminating them. x will give more upper rpm gains, when compared to an h pipe. but you need to research which one you want, they really change the sound of your mufflers, and not always for the best.
