Off-road pipe question

If I end up getting my stang, the first thing done is going to be full exhaust.. If I buy a pair of long tube headers and then a short H or X pipe with no cats will it set my check engine light off? Ive seen MIL eliminators for the 4.6 Mustangs with the OBD-II but will it affect our dirty little 5.0's?

it might at first... when I did my off road x I had the check engine light come on every time I stomped on it... I got under the car again, cleaned everything up real nice with alcohol, then re-seated the 02 sensors and no more problems.
