*OFFICIAL* 2008 Fantasy Football League

Ok folks I know I am not in this league but am in a similar one and wanted to get the opinions of you gurus.

I need two backs and have to pick from the following

Sammy Morris @ Oakland
Brandon Jacobs @ Dallas (sure start if he plays)
Larry Johnson vs San Diego
Mewelde Moore @ Baltimore
Willie parker @ Baltimore
Dominic Rhodes Vs Detroit

I have pretty much ruled out Moore and Parker as they will split carries and are playing Baltimore.

I need to choose between Sammy Morris, Dominic Rhodes, and Larry Johnson. Morris and Rhodes have awesome matchups but LJ is more consistant than both.

So if the losers in the league are "out", what's to keep us from giving away star players to the others to stack the odds? Are trades closed?

I do know that the hottest players in the fantasy league lost their eligibility to be traded earlier on in the season, like around week 6 or 7.

So the rest of us and our teams are "shut down" after this, right?

So why does the system allow us to set lineups and potentially care about points if we are no longer in any recognized standings? It seems pointless to do anything more in the league at this point.

Anyone know the answer?

i checked the "trade" option, and it says our league is past the trade deadline. so no trading.

but i can still add/drop, so i'm not sure what's to stop someone from having that trade dropped, so they can pick it up

The people in the playoffs are the 3 division winners and the wild card is the team who has the best record that wasnt a division winner. If multiple people have the same record for the wild card spot, the team who has the most points scored gets it.

i think we all figured that part out, that's why 4 of us are in the finals.... but what we're confused on is when you go to "playoff schedule," it shows round 1 being the 2 games with 4 people. round 2 shows 3 games, with 6 teams listed as "TBA." then, the next slot says "championship," and is only one game with 2 teams.

so wtf is this round 2 thing?

I don't know whats up with that but it's me and you for the championship.

indeed, good luck, like you'll need it :(

your team has been dominant all year, and mine has fluctuated a ton. i foresee a loss in my future, but i'm glad to have made it this far with the fact that i've never watched an NFL game before this year!

It doesn't matter. I won the Superbowl with a bunch of scrubs all season. Came together when it mattered. The thing is I busted into someones local league when they forgot to make it private and took their trophy. Shoulda seen the message board rants after that.

The Pats crushed my soul this year in fantasy. I drafted Brady and he got hurt obviously, so I lost week 1 to the guy who eventually won my division. I got the wildcard.

Then last week in the first round I faced the same guy and he played Cassel who crushed me. I had Warner and he sucked it up. I lost by 10 points, ugh.

The sad thing is I had 102, he had 112 and the other two division winners had 50 some and 70 some in the first round of the playoffs. Sucks the two best teams were in the same division.

so, yeah, it seems the schedule got fixed. now it shows round 2 as the championship. woo, fun weekend coming up! too bad i wont be watching ANY games, probably. i go back to panama city friday, and will be visiting family/friends all week, so i wont be checking the games, probably. lol
