So is there a tsb now for this problem ?? Are we are still waiting ?? I am a little lazy to read all the posts

No, there is not a TSB out for the 3650 problem. Though they do have upgraded parts available. If you're out of warranty you'll have to pay for the labor and parts. If you're still in warranty hurry and get the fix.

Sorry if this has already been said, but I didn't have time to read all 45 pages of this thread.

I've had problems with the throw-out-bearing and it's been replaced twice. The last time it happened, the dealership went ahead and installed an upgrade kit that had just came out and a SPEC stage 3 clutch. This kit fixed the grind from 1st to 2nd gear and shifts smooth. It was great for a month and now the tranny is starting to make noises again. It's sqeaking at certain rpms in any gear and the gear rollover in neutral is loud.

My car is pushing 450rwhp and I just don't think these Tremec 3650's were made to handle this much hp.

Can these 3650's be rebuilt to handle the power or would I be better off getting a TKO 600?

I have heard that if you install an aftermarket shifter (with stops) you can do a lot to save these because the factory ones are not made to be shifted hard.

Not yet, this trans is still fairly new.

Tremec does show a 390 ft-lb version of the T-3650 on their website but it's not the model for the Mustang. Not sure if it's compatible with it at all.

sorry but could someone quote a description of this problem? I'm having trouble telling what's normal and what's not. Coming from a small truck trans to a sports car trans is confusing

This is the real deal my friends. It even states to lower the fluid level but I dont have the numbers on the correct amount. I will have a copy of the tsb later this evening. Ford has finally admitted the problem to the general public.

Well I got her to the dealer they tried to pull the "Well this happens with most stangs..." its normal? HAH! Well any way then I printed out this entire thread EVERY PAGE and took it to them, they were like um... we will see what we can do, so they might be fixing it, might not. They are however replacing my rear window (Tint was coming off at the seal, fixing the rear window seal (by the trunk lid if any of you have had this issue) and replacing two interior parts that are deteriorating, so they are fixing a lot, missing my stang for 3 days now, hope I get er back soon.

On a related note, anyone ever expeirence their T-3650's leaking from the rear seal??

My '03 has 14,500 miles and leaks enough to leave a good spot in my driveway.

I'm gonna take it into Ford soon. Given the problems these trans have i don't want fluid loss to cause anything.

Actually, this might be why i am still on the original trans in my '03. It shifts fine, but it does get a bit clunky on cold mornings and rainy days. I'll have to wait til winter time to see how bad it gets on those 5 degree mornings.

I hope it's true. I just called my dealer and gave him the number above and he said he'd call me right back.

Yep this is the real deal. Just called the dealer and the car goes in Monday. They couldn't believe all the parts to fix. My service guy was like holy crap! This is really screwed up. I guess they also have a Tag that will go on the tranny verifying it has been fixed!

Sweet!

what is the number (is it 04-15-06) mine goes in next Thursday for several reasons, (02 GT) lets see their is an oil leak, body trim below drivers door is loose, something loose in the vents when you run the a/c, and the trans was replaced when the car had 22,000 on it it now has 27,000 on it and this trans is worse then the first one. So please give me the number you guys were given. Thanks guys.

So you guys are just calling, giving the number and you are all set? No having to go in, leave the car overnight so you can drive it and prove to them that it's fubared?

I just noticed yesterday that mine was leaking a little from the tailshaft (22K miles.) Also my rear pinion seal is leaking again.

My car has already been into the dealer for this issue once. i wanted to get it documented that there was a problem. Talk to my service rep and he said to bring it in on Monday, he has all the info in the computer including the TSB number. The service manager and the tech will have to drive it to see the actual problem... but they already admitted to it when it was in before. Order the parts 1-2 days then install them.
