wondering which one is worth more HP on a bolt on and 100 shot 5.0? i have to choose one or the other right now and wondering which one i should keep on my car

i will either run the stock H pipe with the flowmaster catback or my offroad X pipe with the stock mufflers and catback.
i also have a stainless BBK 2.5 inch H pipe, off road to choose from if someone thinks that will be quieter and/or more powerful than the X though i've heard X and H pipes make the same power on normal street cars,

thanks!

Go with the X and stock muffs, and run dumps with the mufflers if you don't have to worry about emissions. The cats on the stock H pipe are the most restrictive part of the stock exhaust system, so they need to go first.

IMO the stock catted H-pipe is more of a restriction than the stock muffler. Therefore the o/r x pipe and stock mufflers would yield a better HP gain. But the flow cat-back would sound nicer.

trash the stock h-pipe especially if it has older cats on it you'll loose some weight and gain power.

I vote Flowmaster c/b, but the Xpipe will probably pick up a few more horses right now.

if you have emmisions test where you live, then go with cat back!

if you dont have emmisions then I say gut your stock H-pipe.....and buy flowmaster cat back!

if you dont have emmisions and have access to a welder.....then make your self a home made off road H-pipe. by cutting out each cat one at a time and adding pieces of pipe back in there place. when you cut the drivers side and passenger side fronts you will need to weld your self a brace across from the other side to help hold it still while you weld in the new piece
........and buy flowmaster cat back!

cool, thats what i'm running right now and i just swap the stock H pipe back on when i have to smog, but if i use the flowmaster with either the X or H pipe its so fu**ing loud that i get pulled over constantly and it sets off my neighbors car alarm every morning, i'll Gtech before and then gtech again with the stock H pipe and the flowmaster and post back here but i just wanted some opinions of people more stang wise than me

thanks

BTW: for anyone searching this the flowtech X pipe sounds so much sweeter than my Mac of BBK H pipe ever did and its hard to tell but i think i gained a bit of mid-range

glad it worked out for ya but I've never had anything good happen with flowtech! Every part I have ever tried to install that was flowtech was a major PITA to get in. Once I was installing a set of long tubes from flowtech.....and the crappin ox sensor holes were never even put in.....it was a threaded couplin with NO hole in the header! From that day on I have refused to buy anything flowtech makes.
some people have good luck with em I guess, and maybe they have improved........but I just do not care for em!

I say get the mid pipe and weld in a set of aftermarket mufflers if you can't swing a cat back. The stock H is more restrictive than the stock mufflers.
