Well this morning about 2 or 3am we had a nice little storm come through with 10 mins of marble sized HAIL. I have 6 or so nice dings in the hood and about 10 or so more else where on the car.

Have only had the car a little over a month now and the car is black so you can imagine how much they stand out.

There is not enough damage to claim on insurance.
Has anyone on here ever tried the paintless dent remover kits that you can buy?

It could have been much worse so I am thankful it was not, my wifes Altima came out with only 3 small dings!! Course it would hit the new car the most How does that happen, they were sitting side by side?
BAH!!!

sorry bout that, silly mother nature

I woulden't try any type of bodywork on my new baby unless I had talent and experence with it, paintless dent removal is somewhat of an art left to profesionals with special tools, check with your local hi-end auto dealerships and ask who does there work, they are often the most experenced

DRY ICE METHOD OF DENT REMOVAL

For small dings and dents, a process of heat and extreme cold may force the dent out on its own. Heat the dent with a specialized tool or blow dryer. Once its heated, apply dry ice directly on to the dents surface. The dent should pop out.

NOTE: Dry ice can cause damage to skin instantly. Always wear gloves when handling dry ice

==============================

Dent Removal:

This works on fuel tank and other dents that don't involve a "crease" in the metal. Purchase a piece of dry ice (frozen c02) at your local liquor store. It should be larger than your dent. Using thick gloves or a towel to hold the ice, apply it to the dented area. Hold the ice in place until frost forms at least an inch beyond the dent all the way around. Remove the ice and place the tank or metal part in the Sun if possible. If the trick works you'll be able to watch the dent vanish before your eyes. This also works to remove many parking lot dents in car doors

#### HEY.. dont forget the ever popular "FIX A DENT!!" at pep boys hahah good luck .. somethign should work

Yes I've heard of the dry ice method as well. Maybe your insurance will pay for having it done at a body / paint shop and if they screw anything up then it's their baby.

In 16 years of autobody I've never heard about dry ice...I'll have to give it a try before I knock it. The paintless method doesn't completly remove the damage, just lessens it (the metal has streched from the impact) and on black you'll see it. I would suggest getting some quotes from the most reputable shops in your area; that doesn't mean the big production shops with the fancy comercials per se, ask family/friends/collegues when they've had work done...generally a smaller shop can spend a little more time getting your baby perfect again. IMHO

Keep in mind that the advertised do-it-yourself paintless dent removal products aren't nearly as good as the tools and the people who do paintless dent removal every day.

After you have tried everything else. Take it to a PROFESSIONAL dent removal person and get it fixed.

not sure when I will be able to get pics. I am currently in the communist republic of kalifornia and when I get back from there heading to NC for a week and when I get back from there heading back to California for yet another week... so in all I will be gone just about the whole month of April. So maybe one day I will get to drive my car again and see my house and wife.

A hail storm last week in Austin caused considerable damage at area dealerships. Lief Johnson Ford is advertising its entire inventory of 700 new vehicles including ~30 Mustangs as hail damaged. They have about a dozen verts.

I agree with the others here about having a PROFESSIONAL do it.

We purchased our '03 Explorer new on the lot where it had sustained pretty good hail damage. I of course got a break on the vehicle, then agreed to pay $500 to have ALL of the dents done using P.D.R. - knowing full well it would run alot more than that if I were to take it somewhere else. You couldn't tell a hailstone ever hit it when they were done.
