oh **** I broke the kmember bolt

I broke the drivers side kmember bolt right after about 2cm of thread. How do I get it out? Car is on jackstands, I don't have a torch (dunno if that would help) and the other bolt is rounded so I can't even take the kmember off completely.

In cases like this, I think there is a kit that you can use to drill and tap hole the piece of metal that is stuck, but I don't know what places carry the kit. You can try the hardware store. Something else you can try is to get a small phillips screw driver(smaller that the piece of bolt that is broke off), and hammer it into the center of the part of the bolt that broke off, and then one you've created a small flat line in the metal, try screwing it out like you would a screw. Sorry if I'm not of more help. If I had a picture of the problem, I may could give some better advice.

I pic would help so we could see exactly what was going on, but you would at least be able to get the rounded of bolt with this kit.

I unfortunately don't have internet at home still, but I could take a picture with my sidekick and email you the pictures. I'm gonna try the screwdriver method right now, hope the neighbors still aren't sleeping

Its the 15mm bolt that's connecting the A arm to the chasis.

I"d suggest you get a set of ezouts they are for removing broken bolts. I'd also suggest getting some good grade8 bolts to replace the ones you've broken.
BTW yet another reason why I like shorties.
