Do yourself a huge favor and just take the pan off. It will just be in the way, no matter what method you use to remove the broken bolt.

There is nothing easy, about using an easy out, but it is your cheapest bet. If that fails, get a 1/4" Helix kit and use it. You just drill out the hole with the oversized drill bit, provided in the kit, tap the hole with the provided tap, and screw in the Helix threads... pretty easy.

In an extreme circumstance you can use a cutting torch to melt the old bolt out of the hole. The bolt melts way before the cast block, but this is an extreme measure.

BTW... I would recommend ordering a set of ARP pan bolts. You won't have this problem again.

Totally agree. Some people are suggestting methods here that are over-kill.
