I want to build one of these. I did a search on the net and didn't find a thing. I saw numerous topics with pics on Stangnet a while back. Anyone have a link or directions how to make one?

if you mean for PCV, i dont know of an article per se. you can buy generic cans from speed shops or make one from a soup can, if you want. or run an air/oil separator. if aesthetics matter, a prefabbed can from speed shops might work for ya (they are about 30 bucks, i think).

Yes for the PCV system. I am trying to do alot of reading on this system. The PCV is on the lower intake manifold. Where do the hoses go? I cannot get a mental picture. From the lower manifold to the catch can to where? The back of the upper intake manifold tree?

People are using the inline air compressor filters from Home Depot (~$20 or so) and mounting it to the firewall with a section of vac hose coming into it from the PCV and then out into the manifold. Pretty easy to set up. I might do this myself soon.

I'm currently re-doing my pcv valve location. I've tried needle valves, inline filiters, compressor filters, breathers....

There's a guy on corral who just did the samething I did and has his already running with no oil consumption. I'd rather fix the problem then deal with a catch can....

it is an air/oil (or air/water) separator. they are in the air tool section and are about 10 bucks here.

I'd question quality on the eBay ones...

I did one like the above WalMart one with my friend for his SRT-4.

As for my Mustang, I did this one:

It cost me about $15-20...and a simple task - price included new PCV valve as well as all of the hose necessary.

The one pictured is really a oil/partical trap for air tools. Campbell Hasfield is the maker. I would probably remove the filter and make sure you get the glass bottle version and not the plastic one. The plastic this is made from is not meant for the temps seen under a hood of a car. You can get this for $3 from harbor freight tools. Be sure to replace the plastic cap on the drain with a metal one from a tire or fuel line.

I got a couple of the billet aluminum ones from ebay for my mazda pickup and a friends 4runner and they are very nice (a bit larger than the pictured unit). Will hold a lot more oil and comes in nice colors. The hose kits don't always work out for placement, but what generic kit does.
